Job Description:
EVCO is seeking ambitious, hardworking individuals looking to start a career in electronics. As an Associate Equipment Installer, you’ll begin your journey in EVCO's electronics technician apprenticeship program. We are committed to providing you with a clear roadmap to becoming a Washington State licensed low voltage electrician. EVCO will offer a structured development plan that includes opportunities for growth and regular increases in your hourly rate as you progress.
Your daily responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the installation and basic testing of wiring, field devices, and head-end equipment. As part of our project team, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful, high-quality, and timely completion of each project.
You will work with systems such as Nurse Call, Fire Alarm, Access and Security, CCTV, Pro Sound, and Audio Video. The role requires proficiency with industry-specific tools and software, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service during installations and troubleshooting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Work under the direct supervision of a lead technician
· Pull and route low-voltage wiring in various environments (e.g., ceilings, walls, and conduits)
· Wire, install, label, and perform basic testing of field and head-end devices as required by the project
· Correct system deficiencies during installation
· Assist with the setup and teardown of equipment and tools on job sites
· Perform cable management, including bundling, dressing, and securing cables for neat installations
· Support lead technicians with system configurations and initial setup of equipment
· Assist in troubleshooting and resolving basic installation issues
· Maintain job site cleanliness and organization to ensure a safe working environment
· Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment at job sites
· Perform basic maintenance and care of tools and equipment
· Complete and submit necessary paperwork, such as installation logs and quality checklists
· Attend weekly “toolbox” safety meetings
· Maintain professionalism and appropriate attire for environments ranging from active hospitals to new construction sites
· Accurately report hours worked daily
· Be willing to travel and work out of town as needed
Skills and Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Basic knowledge or exposure to low-voltage electronics
· Clean driving record with a current driver’s license
· Ability to pass a drug test
· Familiarity with industry-related hand and power tools (e.g., wire strippers, basic hand tools, volt-ohm meter)
· Basic computer skills
· Ability to meet physical demands, including walking, stooping, climbing ladders, and lifting 50-90 lbs
Schedule
· 4x10-hour shifts, Monday to Thursday
· Overtime opportunities available
Education Requirements
· High School Diploma or GED, or on the job training may substitute as equivalent
